The Tablelands Regional Council replaces the Shire Councils of Atherton, Eacham, Herberton and Mareeba from 15 March 2008. The region covers 65,000 sq km of diverse landscapes including world heritage rainforests and crater lakes, expansive savannahs and wetlands, along with a variety of rural and agricultural farming. Council supports the diverse, multicultural communities making up the Tablelands region and endeavours to provide services, venues and projects to enhance the lifestyle of residents.
