Century operates at two sites in remote north-west Queensland: its mining and processing operations at Lawn Hill, and its associated dewatering and shipping facilities at Karumba, on the Gulf of Carpentaria. The mine is a fly-in, fly-out operation, with commute flights from Townsville, Cairns and Gulf communities.

Century operates under the Gulf Communities Agreement (GCA), a unique agreement between the mine, Queensland Government and four Native Title Groups. The Agreement, which was signed in 1997, provides employment and training opportunities, environment and cultural assurances and infrastructure and service delivery commitments.

Century is part of Minerals and Metals Group (MMG), which is headquartered and incorporated in Australia. MMG is a substantial global producer of zinc, copper and silver and is part of China Minmetals, a Fortune 500 company.
